Honda hit with lawsuit over Acura RDX's infotainment system

American Honda Motor Co has been hit with a proposed nationwide class action alleging that it sold thousands of luxury sport utility vehicles with defective infotainment systems it has been unable to fix.

Filed on Thursday in Los Angeles federal court by lawyers at Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro, the lawsuit said the defect, found in 2019 and 2020 Acura RDX SUVs, poses a safety risk because unexpected problems with the infotainment system can cause drivers to become distracted. read more »

Daimler warns on profit again, blames diesel and recall costs

Luxury carmaker Daimler cut its profit forecast for the fourth time in 13 months on Friday, as it set aside more money to cover a regulatory crackdown on diesel emissions and vehicle recalls related to Takata airbags.

German carmakers, among global leaders in diesel technology, have been caught in the crosshairs of courts and regulators after Volkswagen admitted in 2015 to using engine control devices to cheat U.S. diesel   tests.

Daimler’s diesel pollution levels are being investigated by prosecutors in Stuttgart, Germany, where it is headquartered, as well as by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). read more »

Mercedes-Benz Amg Gt S Cars Recalled To Replace Driveshafts

More than 770 model year 2016-2017 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S cars may have driveshafts that separate while driving.

About 660 vehicles are recalled in the U.S. and 115 are recalled in Canada. Mercedes says the bonding between the carbon-fiber driveshafts and the engine/transmission flanges may not be strong enough. read more »
