Jason Zweig Joins Hagens Berman, Opens New York Office

Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro, LLP, a Seattle-based law firm representing plaintiffs in class actions and multi-party large-scale complex litigation today announced the opening of its New York office, and the hiring of Jason A. Zweig to lead the office.

Zweig is a highly experienced attorney representing plaintiffs in antitrust, securities, consumer and other types of complex litigation including class-action litigation.

Prior to joining Hagens Berman, Zweig was a partner at Kaplan Fox & Kilsheimer LLP in New York City. At Kaplan Fox, Zweig played significant roles in some of the largest antitrust and securities class actions in history including: High Fructose Corn Syrup Antitrust Litigation (recovered $531 million); Hydrogen Peroxide Antitrust Litigation (recovered $97 million) and the Plastics Additives Antitrust Litigation (recovered $46.8 million).

Zweig is admitted to practice in New York, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

Zweig earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in 1995, and his law degree from Columbia Law School in 1998. At Columbia, Zweig was executive editor for the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law. During law school, Jason also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Jed S. Rakoff, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York.

Jason is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York; the American Bar Association Sections of Litigation, Antitrust Law, and International Law; the American Association for Justice; the New York State Bar Association; and the Committee to Support the Antitrust Laws.

Zweig is involved in several philanthropic organizations including serving as a member of the Indiana University Student Foundation Board of Associates; a member of the Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services, Children & Adolescents in Residence Divisional Board; and he is a former Co-Chair of the Young Lawyer’s Division of the UJA Federation-New York.
