The New York Mets fired general manager Jared Porter on Tuesday, a day after ESPN reported that he sent explicit, unsolicited texts and images to a female reporter in 2016 while working for the Chicago Cubs in their front office.
Owner Steve Cohen tweeted Tuesday that the Mets "have terminated Jared Porter this morning," less than 12 hours after ESPN's Mina Kimes and Jeff Passan reported that Porter sent graphic, uninvited text messages and images to the reporter. read more »
Greek gov't, officials pledge full sexual harassment investigation

Greece's government will look thoroughly into allegations by Greek athletes of sexual harassment and clean up the country's sports community, Greek deputy sports minister Lefteris Avgenakis said on Sunday.
Greek Olympic sailing champion Sofia Bekatorou, 43, who had won a gold medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics and a bronze in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, revealed that she had been sexually assaulted in 1998 by a Hellenic Sailing Federation official. On Saturday she named him as Aristidis Adamopoulos, vice-president of the Hellenic Sailing Federation, who was forced to resign from his post on Saturday evening. A scandal involving a prominent French intellectual accused of sexually abusing his teenage stepson has prompted a wave of testimonies on social media from people in France who say they were also victims of incest, shedding light on what campaigners say is a major problem.
Just as the #MeToo movement gained momentum on social networks three years ago, France’s current reckoning on incest has been driven by a hashtag, #Metooinceste, under which some 20,000 tweets had been posted as of Monday afternoon.
