Date Filed: February 5, 2010
Court: Superior Court
Location: California

Schneider National Carriers, Inc. allegedly failed to provide employees with overtime compensation, rest breaks and accurate wage statements as required by California law. Representing employees of the transportation and trucking company, Hagens Berman filed a class-action lawsuit claiming Schneider National violated the state's labor laws which require employees to be paid overtime wage rates when working more than eight hours per day and more than 40 hours per week.

Employees of Schneider National allege they routinely worked more than 10 hour days, four days per week with no alternative work week schedule. Employees never received compensation for time spent prepping vehicles including prepping tools, work bays and waiting for vehicle assignments nor were they given proper breaks, the lawsuit reports.

Schneider National is also charged with depriving employees accurate itemized wage statements and reducing employee's reported hours on time slips to conform to schedule shifts. As a result of Schneider poor labor practices, Hagens Berman believes about 80 mechanics currently working at the company and several former employees never received proper wages for regular and overtime hours worked at the transportation company.

Hagens Berman is currently representing California plaintiffs in the case against Schneider National. The law firm is interested to speak with current and former employees of the transportation company, who believe they may have been defrauded by Schneider National's labor practices and would like to participate in the class-action lawsuit.
