Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro filed a proposed class-action lawsuit against the United States Postal Service (USPS) alleging the agency has violated the terms of the Privacy Act and is distributing employee contact information to marketing partners.
The complaint claims USPS has been illegally providing home addresses and employee identification numbers to other organizations as part of co-branding agreements.
USPS employees are receiving marketing materials at their home addresses, branded with the USPS logo without giving prior consent to the agency for the use of their information. These mailings range from credit card offers, cell phone plans and other consumer products and services.
If you work for USPS and have received marketing materials branded with the USPS logo, and have NOT given the agency your permission to distribute your information we want to hear from you.
