Case Background

In May 2004, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro announced that it would become lead counsel in the ACNielsen Antitrust case. The suit, originally filed by Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) in 1996, claimed that ACNielsen's anticompetitive practices caused IRI to suffer significant losses.

Over the course of the nine-year case, the court issued several orders that narrowed IRI's claims, culminating with the court's final judgment dismissing the antitrust action on January 27, 2005. In response, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro filed an appeal on behalf of IRI which challenged several key issues.

The brief contained situation analysis, background on the original claims made by IRI, and broached several issues for appeal. To read the brief, click here.
