Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro Investigations
Verizon Wireless
Date Started: September 8, 2008
Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro is investigating whether Verizon Wireless' practice of charging California consumers a flat $5 late fee violates California's consumer rights laws.
Customers are charged to pay a late fee if they don't pay bills on time, but according to California consumer protection laws, there may be some inherent issues with charging a fixed late fee as a penalty.
We're also investigating legal issues with charging customers the same standard late fee penalty. Whether a plan costs $40 a month or all the bells and whistles for $200 the charge is the same.
We want to hear from any California residents who've paid one or more $5 late fee in the past four years. You can contact us by clicking here or e-mailing info@hbsslaw.com.
