  • Ms. Furman’s practice focuses on pharmaceutical antitrust matters, including patent cases, medical device fraud, failure-to-warn matters, off-label marketing and other areas of related health care fraud and litigation.
  • She is currently involved in Generic Pharmaceuticals Pricing Antitrust Litigation related to a price-fixing conspiracy among large generic pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • She is also currently involved in supervising the review team in In re: Avandia Marketing, Sales Practices & Product Liability Litigation.
  • Prior to joining Hagens Berman, Ms. Furman managed large teams of attorneys on various litigation projects, training new team members on substantive and privilege issues and coordinated time-sensitive discovery projects, and had also overseen other areas of case management.
  • Her work also included the areas of Federal Anti-kickback Statute (AKS) for improperly influencing and incentivizing physician prescribing habits through inappropriate remuneration, as well as Stark violations, AMP and Best Price calculation methodologies and reporting practices, Medicare overbilling. She also has experience in non-governmental lawsuits between healthcare and pharmaceutical clients related to patent infringement of medical devices, ANDA litigation contract breach and more.
  • Prior to working in the area of healthcare and pharmaceutical litigation, Ms. Furman worked briefly in residential real estate as a conveyancing attorney and title examiner. She also has experience in personal injury cases and has worked as a contract attorney on various complex litigation projects.
  • As a student, Ms. Furman participated in a clinical program at the trial division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office.
