PACIFICA DEFECT EXPLAINED

Dozens of Chrysler Pacifica owners have reported the engine stalls or shuts off without warning while driving, leaving drivers in danger and unable to accelerate, decelerate or use power steering while the vehicle is in motion. Stalling has reportedly occurred at various speeds and driving circumstances, including highway driving.

According to owners' reports, upon taking their Chrysler Pacifica to the dealership, no codes are pulled, and dealers cannot recreate the event. Most owners are being told to “continue driving” until the event happens again. At least a dozen owners have refused to take their cars back from the service bay or park their cars permanently. NHTSA is actively investigating the defect.

YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS

Hagens Berman believes that consumers have the right to reimbursement for receiving vehicles with a serious safety defect. Fiat Chrysler has sold more than 167,000 model year 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivans in the United States, and yet it is choosing to leave the owners of these vehicles with the potentially life-threatening reality of losing control of a vehicle during operation.

While Chrysler continues to turn away Pacifica owners, our firm seeks to bring repayment and resolution to those being forced into choosing to abandon use of their minivan, or continue operating a vehicle that could turn off at any moment.
