PACIFICA DEFECT EXPLAINED
Dozens of Chrysler Pacifica owners have reported the engine stalls or shuts off without warning while driving, leaving drivers in danger and unable to accelerate, decelerate or use power steering while the vehicle is in motion. Stalling has reportedly occurred at various speeds and driving circumstances, including highway driving.
According to owners' reports, upon taking their Chrysler Pacifica to the dealership, no codes are pulled, and dealers cannot recreate the event. Most owners are being told to “continue driving” until the event happens again. At least a dozen owners have refused to take their cars back from the service bay or park their cars permanently. NHTSA is actively investigating the defect.
