Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU) Subsidiary to Pay $4.2 Million Under U.S. False Claims Act, Former Whistleblower Employee Bags $700 Thousand

Lucent Technologies Worldwide Services (LTWSI), a subsidiary of Franco-American telecom company Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE:ALU, ALU message board), agreed to pay $4.2 million over allegations under the False Claims Act that it submitted "misleading" test certification to the U.S. military. The certification was related to the design and installation of an emergency first-responder system in Iraq.
