Hagens Berman is investigating a false claim made by Dorel about the safety of its Maxi-Cosi brand booster seats, which place children in grave danger in the event of a car accident. We believe parents, grandparents, guardians and other caretakers deserve compensation for their purchase of a product that fails to perform as advertised and places children in danger.

MAXI-COSI CAR SEATS AREN’T AS SAFE AS ADVERTISED
Dorel markets a “revolutionary” safety feature, called “AirProtect,” which it claims “minimizes the risk of injury” to children involved in a side-impact collision. But recent reports state that AirProtect has not been objectively proven to increase car-seat safety, and in one of Dorel’s own test videos, the technology does not appear to protect a child’s head and neck in a side-impact car accident.
YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS
Hagens Berman is seeking reimbursement for anyone who purchased one of Dorel’s Maxi-Cosi AirProtect-equipped booster seats. Parents, grandparents, guardians and caretakers across the U.S. bought these car seats on Dorel’s assurance that they were safe for children and would give them extra protection in the event of a side-impact collision. But these seats did not undergo the sort of rigorous, objective testing that would support such a claim, and appear to offer no additional protection in the event of a crash. Consumers are entitled to the truth from manufacturers of such safety-critical products and deserve compensation from Dorel in light of the company’s misleading claims.
