In Kidnapping Attempt, Uber Driver Told 2 Women ‘You’re Not Going Anywhere,’ Police Say

An Uber driver in Pittsburgh has been charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment after he tried to lock two female passengers in his car and told them, “You’re not going anywhere,” the police said.

The arrest was a new blow to Uber, which has struggled with allegations of sexual misconduct by drivers and is trying to recover from a disappointing initial public offering last week.

Uber and other ride-sharing companies have also faced the problem of people, mostly men, posing as drivers to carry out kidnappings, sexual assaults and robberies, largely against young women. read more »

Passengers aren't the only ones who suffer sexual abuse. So do flight attendants

For 115,000 flight attendants working for U.S. airlines passenger safety is a top priority and the point of our job. We are trained to react to emergency situations.

But nowadays it’s not just problems with the plane or turbulent weather. It’s sexual misconduct.

In one case, a 13-year-old girl was assaulted by a 26-year-old man. He was convicted and has since been released from prison.

To this list of victims we also must add flight attendants. Two JetBlue flight attendants recently sued the airline in federal court, saying they had been drugged and raped by two of the airline’s pilots. read more »
