Steve Berman co-founded Hagens Berman in 1993 and is the firm’s managing partner. He represents consumers, investors and employees in large, complex litigation held in U.S. state and federal courts. Berman’s trial experience has earned him significant recognition and led The National Law Journal to name him one of the 100 most powerful lawyers in the nation, and to repeatedly name Hagens Berman one of the top 10 plaintiffs’ firms in the U.S. Berman was inspired to build a law firm that vociferously fought for the rights of those unable to fight for themselves. His innovative approach, tenacious conviction and impeccable track record have earned him an excellent reputation and numerous historic legal victories. He is considered one of the most successful class-action attorneys in the U.S.

Mr. Berman served as co-lead counsel for the largest antitrust settlement in U.S. history and has represented clients against Big Pharma in various actions ranging from price-fixing schemes to antitrust activities to culminate in more than $1 billion in aggregate settlements. He also works on antitrust matters including those regarding components in computers, as well representing a class of animators against several employers. He was also responsible for securing $400 million in compensation for e-book owners for an antitrust pricing scheme involving Apple and five of America’s top publishers. Steve has also championed the rights of consumers in emissions-cheating litigation against various automakers. He has led Hagens Berman’s proprietary efforts in independently testing diesel models across Audi, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, GM, Mercedes and others and was the first to file suit against Volkswagen following its Dieselgate scandal. Steve also pioneered emissions-cheating claims against Mercedes’ parent company Daimler, having tested vehicles that later spurred investigations by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Justice. more »
