Law360 Names Hagens Berman a Leader in Class Action Law
SEATTLE – On the heels of several major wins in complex litigation last year, Hagens Berman received the Practice Group of the Year award from Law360, spotlighting the firm for its work in class actions.
The firm’s managing partner and co-founder, Steve Berman, was interviewed about the firm’s recent successes which include landmark settlements against high-profile defendants, including the NCAA, the National Association of Realtors and Visa.
"We have a history of taking on pioneering cases," Berman told Law360. "We've been successfully litigating significant matters, powered by our ambition and persistence."
Partner Ben Harrington also commented on the firm’s big win when a D.C. federal judge granted final approval to a $197.5 million settlement from Visa and Mastercard to resolve antitrust claims over ATM fees.
"We did a lot of heavy lifting with the class certification aspect of the case," Harrington told Law360. "We did a pretty compelling job marshaling the expert evidence. Fundamentally, the merits of the case were strong. We were helped along the way by being able to articulate how their actions were causing harm."
